Following the successful transition of the EDA helicopter training programmes to the MHTC, the first Helicopter Tactics Course of 2024 has been completed.

This course, which ran from 8 January to 26 January, was the 82nd in the series, but the first under the umbrella of the Multinational Helicopter Training Centre (MHTC). From three countries (Germany, Slovenia and Sweden), 17 students participated, forming 4 helicopter crews, following the whole crew concept.

The course syllabus is based on the use of the Helicopter Exercise Programme (HEP) Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The purpose of the HEP SOP is to standardise and ensure consistency between all related MHTC Rotary Wing (RW) training modules and courses.

Trainees have successfully completed the theoretical lessons and tactical simulator-based sorties as described in the course syllabus.
